The heating sector can make an important contribution towards achieving the energy and climate goals. At around 40 percent, domestic heat generation accounts for the greatest proportion of energy consumption – and most CO2 emissions. In view of the large number of outdated heating systems currently extant, the requirement to speed up modernisation in private homes is now pressing.
