Exploiting market potential
To implement the political twin strategy, the Federal Government has developed an "integrated energy and climate programme". The heating sector can make an important contribution towards achieving the energy and climate goals. At around 40 percent, domestic heat generation accounts for the greatest proportion of energy consumption – and most CO2 emissions. In view of the large number of outdated heating systems currently extant, the requirement to speed up modernisation in private homes is now pressing.
